Trinidad and Tobago`s Gabrielle Walcott has been crowned the second runner-up in the 2008 Miss World Pageant.
Walcott took the third place Saturday night in the star-studded ceremony at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, the City of Gold.
Her dream is to become an actress and has her first degree in Visual and Theatre Arts from the University of the West Indies. After achieving this she took a year to help finance her move to the Big Apple and then moved to New York to do post graduate studies in Acting and Theatre Arts. Gabrielle is currently also one of Trinidad & Tobago`s Youth Ambassadors for the UN. Her motto is `Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.`
The 2008 Miss World winner was Russia`s Kseniya Sukhinovia while India`s Parvathay Omanakuttan was the first runner-up. The other two finalists were beauties from South Africa and Angola. The 2008 Miss World Festival featured 109 beautiful and talented contestants who spent a month in South Africa. |
