Sir Arthur George Murchison Fletcher (1878-1954) was Governor of Fiji and British High Commissioner for the Western Pacific from 1928 to 1936. After that he was Governor of Trinidad and Tobago (1936-1938). He was memorialized by the early calypso singer Lord Executor in a song titled “We Mourn the Loss of Sir Murchison Fletcher,” which can be found easily on the web. Mounting residue on verso.
